Kiss of Death: For the Murderously Inclined Romantic

December 1 is Kiss of Death day! Yeah, that’s how awesome romantic suspense is as a genre – it gets its own day. To celebrate, I’d like to talk about the genre a little and deliver a call to action to all you would-be novelists. :)

I write romantic suspense because I love mystery, and I’m a sucker for romance. Both are timeless. Both make the world go round.

Both make you think.

Dialog Differentiating Tips

“Sure enough, there he was, cresting the hill on foot—a naked man wearing nothing but a black cowboy hat, a pair of boots and a go-to-hell sneer.”

Intrigued? Welcome to Storm’s Interlude by Vonnie Davis, a wonderful story filled with heat, heart, and memorable characters. Part of what makes them memorable is the way Vonnie writes dialog. It’s part of the writer’s package, I guess. If it doesn’t ever happen, perhaps it means we’re being too safe.

Tips from a Debut ePubbed Author

To be honest, e-publishing was not even on my radar when I began my writer’s journey three years ago. Even as I write that, it sounds conceited and high-brow, but really, it was simply a case of ignorance. Yet, the more time passes and the more involved I become with different writer loops, the more I’m intrigued with it. Especially since my TV-loving mother got a Kindle before me. You should hear her brag about all the books she’s devoured since Christmas. What the hell?
